Asa Radix M.D., Ph.D.
Asa Radix (he/him) is a Black transgender man of Caribbean descent. He has authored or co-authored various standards and guidelines, including serving as a primary editor for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care, Version 8. He has published countless peer-reviewed journal articles, his writing has appeared in textbooks and elsewhere, and he is a well-known lecturer at conferences worldwide. Asa currently works as the senior director of research and education at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center and as a clinical associate professor of medicine at New York University. Asa trained in internal medicine and infectious disease at the University of Connecticut and later received an MPhil in epidemiology from Cambridge University and a PhD from Columbia University. His research focuses on STI/HIV risk, HIV prevention, and LGBTQIA+ health.
