Colt St. Amand (he/they) is a transgenderqueer Two Spirit queer lesbimandyke of white and Indigenous heritage, both binary and nonbinary at once. He is now the medical director of the Gender Wellness Center at the Bassett Healthcare Network in upstate New York. He holds an MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch and a PhD from the University of Houston, and has recently completed his Family Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic. He is an extraordinarily devoted activist, appearing regularly in journals, in books, and in the media. He is an assistant professor teaching gender and sexual health at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Houston. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed manuscripts in the field of gender health. He has given presentations at universities, medical schools, residency programs, mental health conferences, trans and queer community events, public and private schools, nonprofit groups, agencies, youth groups, places of worship, and corporations. A pet person, he lives with his partner, Sean (they), and a sharpei mix, Phoenix.
