[Leather] is sexy; it’s so and pliable, yet tough. It can be a kiss or a punch. It is literally a second skin. Leather culture, and BDSM more broadly, also provide venues to experiment with masculinity, femininity, other genders, and the spaces between coyness and strength, toughness and submission, dominance and vulnerability—to experience both gender and sexual euphoria in safe and controlled environments where we get to write the rules about our bodies.
